Mark Mellor display at Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library
Mark A. Mellor will be exhibiting his watercolor paintings at Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library on Oak Street in Boothbay Harbor during the month of August. The watercolors in this exhibit at the library are a cross section of some of Mellor's recent works.
Mellor is a member of the Boothbay Region Art Foundation, a past board trustee and an active member of the Plein Air Painters of Maine. Since moving from Connecticut in the summer of 1996, Mellor has pursued his artistic vision in the medium of transparent watercolor. Through the years, he has welcomed people from all over the world to his gallery, the Oak Street Gallery.
His watercolors capture the coastline and harbors with their colorful buoys, lobster boats and fishing shacks; they are Mellor's inspiration for his paintings. He may be on location with the Wednesday plein air group, or quietly poking around the backroads with his camera; wherever he is, he searches for new subjects of interest to feed his artistic soul.
Library hours: Tuesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
