AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC has updated its list, May 13, of COVID-19 cases in the state of Maine.

Today, there are 1,515 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases across the state, including 1,372 confirmed cases and 143 probable cases. 

Across the state, 943 people have recovered from COVID-19, while 66 people have died. The number of people hospitalized, at some point during their illness, across the state stands at 204.

Looking at hospital COVID-19 data, there are currently 41 hospitalized, including 20 in critical care and seven on a ventilator. There are 159 available critical care beds out of 361 total and 226 available ventilators of 313 total and 416 alternative ventilators.

The Maine CDC reports 22,092 negative cases, as of May 6. “Maine CDC will publish negative results once a week on Wednesdays. Because of the number of outside labs that are testing samples from Maine, it is not currently possible to post a complete count of negative tests on a daily basis,” the Maine CDC website states. 

By sex, 804 females have tested positive in the state and 711 males have tested positive. 

The below cases represents the number of full-time Maine residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Maine CDC. 

“This is likely an underrepresentation of the true number of cases in Maine since not all individuals are being tested,” the Maine CDC says. “For individuals not considered to be at high risk, medical providers are currently advised to diagnose COVID-19 based on symptoms.”
