May 29 update: 2,226 statewide COVID-19 cases
AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC has updated its list, May 29, of COVID-19 cases in the state of Maine.
Today, there are 2,226 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases across the state, including 1,971 confirmed cases and 255 probable cases.
Across the state, 1,458 people have recovered from COVID-19, while 85 people have died. The number of people hospitalized, at some point during their illness, across the state stands at 270.
Looking at hospital COVID-19 data, there are currently 53 hospitalized, including 18 in critical care and 12 on a ventilator. There are 138 available critical care beds out of 395 total and 241 available ventilators of 319 total and 441 alternative ventilators.
By sex, 1,154 females have tested positive in the state and 1,072 males have tested positive.

The below cases represents the number of full-time Maine residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Maine CDC.
“This is likely an underrepresentation of the true number of cases in Maine since not all individuals are being tested,” the Maine CDC says. “For individuals not considered to be at high risk, medical providers are currently advised to diagnose COVID-19 based on symptoms.”
