Another chance is coming up tonight to help Wiscasset High School’s chances of winning WGME’s “Spirit Challenge.” Teachers from the school will be working at McDonald’s on Route 1 in Wiscasset, in a “McTeachers Night,” from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, said Deb Pooler, Wiscasset High’s technology integrator assistant and student council adviser.

The restaurant is donating a portion of its profits those three hours to the cause, Pooler said. The cause is a food drive for Good Shepherd Food Bank in Lewiston. Good Shepherd can buy five pounds of food for every dollar donated. The school that racks up the largest number of pounds of food wins the Portland television station’s Spirit Cup.

Students and others got a look at the cup January 31, when the station reported live from an early-morning rally at the school. The food drive continues through February 28.
