American Legion Post 54 of Wiscasset will meet at the veterans’ wall at the town office at 9 a.m. Monday, May 31, Memorial Day, Post Cmdr. Bill Cossette Jr. said. Wreaths will be placed, a bugle will be played and there will be no speeches, Cossette said.

Woolwich’s Memorial Day service is at 7 p.m. at North Woolwich Methodist Church, an announcement stated. The speaker will be Sophia Inman, a 13-year Air Force veteran, who also worked at Arlington National Cemetery. For those unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed. An 11 a.m. observance at Pownalborough Court House in Dresden starts at the flagpole and continues in a march to the cemetery to lay flowers and recognize the veterans interred there, a museum Facebook post stated. Mason Lodge 103 will say a few words, the post stated.
