Meyers debuts a children’s book with a purpose
Quan Meyers of Walpole will launch her first children’s book, “Silly Pilly, Lilly and Mr. Wally” on Saturday, Sept. 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ames True Value in Wiscasset.
This charming true story is about three sweet Mini-Lop bunnies, who come from difficult situations to end up living together as best friends. Children will love these bunnies, while parents and kids will learn together how to care for these endearing companions.
Myers runs Rabbitats for Humanity, a nonprofit center for unwanted bunnies. Since 1998, she has rescued, rehabilitated, and cared for over 1,000 bunnies. Her passion and extensive experience with human-bunny relationships has led her to educate in shelters, schools, and libraries all over New England.
The book is lavishly illustrated by Boothbay Harbor-based artist Thomas Block, a retired Wiscasset High School art teacher.
Both Meyers and Block will be on hand to talk about the book and autograph copies.
“Silly Pilly, Lilly and Mr. Wally” was published by Maine Authors Publishing.
Ames True Value is located at 477 Bath Road (Route 1 South).
