The Lincoln County Democratic Committee (LCDC) announced that the rally and meeting with Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mike Michaud, originally scheduled for June 7, will now take place in Damariscotta on Monday, July 7. LCDC Chair Lisa Miller said the rally and meeting will be held at the Lincoln Theater on Main Street in Damariscotta from 5 to 7 p.m.

“This will be an old fashioned rally with music, food and speeches, Miller said, and is an opportunity for Lincoln County residents to meet Congressman Michaud personally and engage in a dialogue with him on the important issues facing the state of Maine.”

The June 7 meeting and rally was postponed when Congressman Michaud was called to Washington to participate in an oversight hearing of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee. Michaud is the senior Democrat on the Committee and is a strong advocate for veterans in Washington.

Plans for the rally include live music by local musicians. Food will be provided by the Newcastle Publick House. Admission to the rally is free and open to all.
