The Midcoast High Winds Flute Choir, under the direction of Boothbay resident Carolyn Lanigan, will give a free public concert at the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor, 125 Townsend Ave., Sunday, April 6 at 3 p.m.

The program, “Silver Celebration” will feature a varied repertoire of classical, modern and popular music including pieces by Johannes Brahms, Gabriel Faure, Catherine McMichael and Richard Rodgers.

High Winds, an ensemble of amateur and professional musicians from Maine’s Midcoast region, has been entertaining community audiences since 2016. Along with typical concert flutes, members also perform on less common instruments, including piccolos, alto flutes and bass flutes, giving the ensemble a wide spectrum of pitches and timbres.
