New art show and van Hasselt workshop at Boothbay Region Art Foundation
The Boothbay Region Art Foundation (BRAF) has once again installed a collection of artwork that reveals the wealth of talent and creativity found here in Midcoast Maine. Our members’ artwork, 135 regional artists, continues to reflect the high quality and wide variety which seems to evolve as a natural outcome from our nonprofit mission: to encourage artists at all levels to participate, learn and develop their skills in a public gallery setting.
Our July exhibit reflects the impact that summer has upon the artists’ palettes and patterns with an array of intense colors and a visual “harnessing of energy.” The show continues through July 28.
Tony van Hasselt’s upcoming watercolor workshop, August 1, 2 and 3, promises to be a great opportunity for experiencing lessons en plein air with a master teacher and artist. van Hasselt will share his special approach to painting outdoors, both with basic methods and many special techniques for achieving optimal results.
All proceeds from this workshop will be donated to further the nonprofit mission of BRAF.
To reserve a space, call BRAF Gallery at 207-633-2703.
BRAF continues to offer classroom space for life drawing on Tuesdays, Open Studio sessions on Fridays, and scheduled workshops throughout the summer and fall.
The Art Foundation is located at 1 Townsend Avenue in Boothbay Harbor.
