The CLC YMCA in Damariscotta is holding new dog classes on Sept. 6 with lower prices: Members $65 and non-members $75. Be sure to sign up while there is still room.

Tues.: 5-6 p.m., Beginners classes: Dogs learning the basics, such as walking nicely on lead, sit, down, stays, etc.

Tues.: 6-7 p.m., Intermediate Classes: We will work on having the dogs coming more reliably. Being a better canine companion and learn to be social with other dogs and people and solving dog problems.

Tues.: 7-8 p.m. Canine Good Citzen Advanced: For those people who have gotten their CGC on their dog and would like to do something more exciting. The AKC has started a couple of new Certificates for Dogs to earn. Look up http://www.akc.org/dog-owners/training/akc-community-canine/
