New marketing coordinator for local YMCAs
The Central Lincoln County (CLC) and Boothbay Region (BR) YMCAs are pleased to welcome Jarod Wescott as their Coordinator of Marketing. Wescott will support the planning, development, and implementation of all marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities for both locations.
Wescott joins the Y with professional experience in marketing and design with an educational background in marketing and sociology from University of Southern Maine (USM). Prior to joining the Y, Wescott was a student and worked in IT sales/marketing, for two years at the YMCA in Waterville, Maine and has done freelance design work for small businesses in central Maine.
He believes that if small businesses were to adopt similar values to the YMCA then more small businesses would be involved in their communities which in turn would create a stronger more successful personal and business environment, strengthening local economy and community culture.
“I’m very excited to be a part of the team at the CLC and Boothbay Region YMCAs,” says Wescott. “After my time as a camp counselor at the Waterville YMCA, I knew that once I finished my marketing degree that I wanted to use that knowledge and the skills I had learned over the years to work with the Y and help them increase the knowledge and the exposure of the great work they do for their communities. I am grateful to be given this opportunity and am excited to bring some innovative ideas and strategies to the table.”
The CLC & BR YMCAs are key collaborative leaders improving the quality of life for all by being the champion for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
