New Sally Loughridge exhibit at Archipelago in September
South Bristol artist Sally Loughridge shares a new array of original paintings at the Archipelago Store throughout September. These land and seascapes are sparked by her emotional response to the hearty "bones" of Maine's shoreline and nuanced colors of her fields, woodlands, and skies.
"Beautiful patterns of sun and shadow pull me in and compel me to paint," said Loughridge. She never tires of the constant shifting of intriguing light patterns, whether dramatic or subtle, throughout Maine's days and seasons.
Loughridge has shown her soft pastel and oil artwork for over 15 years at Archipelago, Island Institute's store in Rockland. Archipelago is home to unique handmade art, craft and design representing the very best of Maine's islands and coast. Recent renovation of the space highlights the diversity and beauty of their fine art and crafts. Loughridge also exhibits her work extensively throughout the Midcoast in galleries and juried or invitational shows.
