Next storm’s clouds have silver lining
UPDATE: The weather advisory for Lincoln County was lifted the night of January 21.
Original post: A storm that will graze Maine tonight, Jan. 21, and Wednesday, Jan. 22, is expected to throw measurable snow at Lincoln County. Both coastal and inland Lincoln County could see four to five inches of new snow, said meteorologist James Brown of the National Weather Service’s Gray office.
“The storm itself is mostly over the ocean,” Brown said. The region’s current cold snap will make for a dry snow, he said. And the blanket of clouds from the storm’s outskirts will keep temperatures from dipping more than they otherwise might, Brown said. Wednesday’s temperatures could peak in the teens above zero, he said.
Brown anticipated a winter weather advisory to be in effect from 8 p.m. Tuesday through 4 p.m. Wednesday.
