No one hurt in Route 1, Wiscasset school bus-car crash
Wiscasset police said no one was hurt in a car-school bus crash Thursday afternoon, Jan. 31 near Shaw’s supermarket on Route 1. The bus had six children aboard from Lincoln Academy, Reserve Officer Jason Miller said at the scene.
The First Student bus, a 2017 Freightliner driven by Donald Barter, 81, of Jefferson was northbound when a 1999 Dodge car driven by Everett Grimes, 79, left the strip mall parking lot to cross Route 1 over to Shaw’s, failed to yield the right of way and collided with the bus, according to details police department staff provided Monday from the accident report.
No one has been charged in the crash, reported at 2:01 p.m., department staff said.
