Lincoln Theater is thrilled to announce the  latest production from National Theatre Live, “Nye,” a captivating play by acclaimed writer Tim Price, directed by the esteemed Rufus Norris. Join us Thursday, July 11 at 7 p.m. and Fri July 12 at 2 p.m. for this spectacular new work starring Michael Sheen as Aneurin ‘Nye’ Bevan, taking audiences on a surreal and epic journey through the life and legacy of one of Britain’s most influential politicians.

“Nye” offers a powerful exploration of Bevan’s indelible impact on the UK, tracing his journey from the coalfields where he campaigned tirelessly, to the hallowed halls of Parliament where he led the battle to create the National Health Service. Despite never becoming Prime Minister, Bevan’s influence on Britain’s welfare state remains unparalleled. Confronted with death, Bevan’s deepest memories propel him on a mind-bending journey through his life. Audiences will be taken from his childhood to the harsh realities of mining underground, through his parliamentary battles, including his legendary clashes with Churchill.

Tim Price’s masterful writing, combined with Rufus Norris’ visionary direction, brings this epic new Welsh fantasia to life in a way that only National Theatre Live can. Known for his previous success with “Small Island,” Norris’ direction promises to deliver a theatrical experience that is both poignant and visually stunning. Filmed live at the National Theatre in London, “Nye” is set to be a landmark production, showcasing the extraordinary talent of Michael Sheen and offering a profound reflection on the life of a man who transformed Britain’s welfare state.
