Oktoberfest goes inside
Sally Howe, left, and fellow Westport Island resident Anne Harris chat as they help at First Congregational Church’s Oktoberfest in Wiscasset on Oct. 4. Rain led church members to bring the fundraiser inside, except for the grilling of the bratwurst in the parking lot. SUSAN JOHNS/Wiscasset Newspaper
Wiscasset’s Wallace Roby, a member of First Congregational Church in Wiscasset, mans a table of tools and wooden items at a flea market that was part of the church’s Oktoberfest on Oct. 4. The flea market downstairs at the church, and the sale of baked goods, jams and other items in the fellowship hall, benefited the church. The annual fair takes its name from a German festival.
