One hurt in Wiscasset fight
UPDATE: James “BJ” Fitzpatrick, 63, of Bristol, was charged July 11 with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, according to Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline.
Further investigation of the incident continues and more charges may be filed at a later date.
Original post: Wiscasset police are searching for more information regarding a fight involving two men behind Wiscasset Town Hall the morning of July 10 around 9 a.m.
At 9:25 a.m. Wiscasset Police Officer Perry Hatch responded to the rear parking lot of the Wiscasset Town Hall for a reported man down.
Officer Hatch arrived to find Michael Hanna of Damariscotta, 38, on the pavement and bleeding. Witnesses on scene told Hatch that an altercation had taken place between two male subjects. Hanna had allegedly gotten into a physical fight with the operator of another vehicle. Hanna was subsequently dragged by the suspect vehicle and sustained serious injuries.
Hanna was transported directly to Maine Medical Center by the Wiscasset Ambulance Service where he is being treated for his injuries.
The identity of the other subject involved in this incident is unknown at this time and the investigation is ongoing. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Detective Division is assisting in this investigation.
