One injured in two-vehicle accident
An accident involving two motor vehicles occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb at approximately 4 p.m July 5.
A Cadillac sedan was turning into a driveway when a northbound Chevrolet Silverado clipped the rear of the Cadillac, causing the sedan to spin off the southbound side of the road.
Both vehicles were carrying passengers, but only the operator of the Cadillac, whose name was not released, was transported to Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta for observation.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene along with Wiscasset Ambulance Service and the Edgecomb Fire Department.
“The sun was a factor, and glare was an issue,” said Deputy Richard Woodward. “It looks like the Cadillac is going to be a total loss with extensive rear end damage, and the front right side of the truck was also damaged.”
Northbound traffic was detoured onto the Old Route 1 Road, while tow trucks arrived at scene to remove the vehicles.
The accident scene was cleared at 4:40 p.m.
