Maine Authors Publishing and Cooperative, 558 Main Street in Rockland, will be hosting an open house on Saturday, Jan. 30 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Writers and authors who have published, have never published before, or are simply interested in knowing more about what happens at a local, independent press are encouraged to come.

Maine Authors Publishing has been working to support self-publishing and independent authors for the past six years by offering professional and affordable services, from editing to distribution.

“Part of our company mission is to support authors of all levels and to help them meet their personal goals. We love meeting new authors and working with them throughout the process so they can hold their printed book,” said Jane Karker, president of Maine Authors Publishing.

Karker will be talking at the open house about what Maine Authors Publishing does for independent writers and will also be talking about new courses that the company will sponsor to further meet their mission. Their publicist/managing editor will also be present, along with Lee Heffner, a writing coach. Light refreshments will be served.
