Over 1000 without power in Boothbay region

High winds may be the cause behind 1,000-plus power outages in the Boothbay region Friday.
On Jan. 9 as of 9:15 a.m., 1,043 homes were without power in Boothbay Harbor, 13 in Southport, 13 in Bristol and 8 in Bremen, according to the Central Maine Power outages report.
The National Weather Service predicts snow today, mainly before 1 p.m. It will be partly sunny, with a high near 30 F; and breezy, with a southwest wind 15 to 20 mph.
Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches is possible.
