Over $273 million in unclaimed property available
Maine Treasurer Henry E.M. Beck wants to remind Maine people that the Office of the State Treasurer is holding hundreds of millions of dollars in unclaimed property that may belong to you.
Unclaimed Property consists of money and other financial assets that are considered lost or abandoned when an owner cannot be located after a specified period of inactivity. It includes items such as bank accounts, uncashed checks, life insurance policies, unpaid wages, stocks and dividends, refunds, and safe deposit box contents. Unclaimed Property does not include real estate, animals or vehicles.
Millions of dollars are turned over annually to the State of Maine by entities who cannot locate the owners. There is no fee charged to process your Unclaimed Property Claim.
