Overboard Players donates $2,861.46 to the Linda Sibley Clark Memorial Fund
Overboard Players was a community theatre group established in 2004. The group presented a few music reviews and two full-scale musical events at the Opera House between 2004 and 2007. Linda Sibley Clark was a very active member of the group and starred in every production. Known for her strong singing and acting talents, she was a tremendous influence in bringing people together to sing and have fun. Her popularity in the community also helped bring in many supporters who donated to the Overboard Players’ fund with either advertising or ticket sales.
It has been eight years since the Overboard Players has had any efforts to produce more productions, so, instead of holding on to the remaining balance of funds in its checking account, the officers of the board of Overboard Players have decided to disband the group and donate the remainder of the money to the Linda Sibley Clark Memorial Fund, part of the Boothbay Region Student Aid Fund. This fund was created after Linda’s passing last year in hopes to help a Boothbay Region student help to pursue his or her dream to study in any aspect of performing arts.
The board believes that this money should be gifted back to the community and feels strongly that Linda’s legacy is the perfect way to help a young student grow into becoming as gifted and talented as Linda.
The family would like to remind others that they continue to raise money to make this a perpetual fund. To donate, please send donations to The Linda Sibley Clark Memorial Fund, Boothbay Region Student Aid Fund, P.O. Box 293, Boothbay Harbor, ME 04538
Board members are Ron Bouffard, Sandy Bugbee Larsen, Carrie Langlois and Michael Feldmann. Family members are Kristin Sibley and Lori Brewer.
