Kefauver Studio & Gallery is open and offering painting classes, portfolio preparation services, and art demonstrations, in addition to the original artwork of Will Kefauver and guest artists.

The studio offers painting classes to teens and adults in oil and acrylics. The studio and gallery are in a renovated barn, and visitors will find a comfortable space with views of the garden, fields, and woods beyond. Students of all levels are accommodated. One student, a professional artist, commented, “In the class I had with him, some students had art degrees already and some had never painted before. Will was able to make useful and appropriate suggestions for each person.”

Instruction is geared to the student’s needs and comfort level. Classes are offered in either 10-week sessions or single lessons. Drop-ins are always welcome, when space is available. (Call ahead, please.)

Kefauver also offers portfolio preparation services for students applying to college. The requirements for submitting artwork varies with each school, and the process can be daunting. Will’s expertise in both fine art and the technical aspects of photographing, scanning, and burning images to cd’s to the right specs are enormously useful to harried students and parents. “I know I contributed only one piece of my clients’ applications to colleges, but it is still gratifying to hear that they were accepted at the schools of their choice. I love hearing that news from my portfolio kids!” Kefauver said.

Art demonstrations are planned for the coming months. The first will be held in early August, and will feature guest artist Steve Hamlin, demonstrating his watercolor techniques. The event will be free to the public, and exact time and date will be announced shortly.
