Pemaquid artists' group gifts local organization and schools

Art appreciation and education are an ongoing mission of the Pemaquid Group of Artists, which funds financial aid to local organizations and schools.
Following the close of the gallery season, the Pemaquid Group of Artists is presenting checks to local schools for the purpose of encouraging and supporting art education. Healthy Kids of Damariscotta is one of the first schools to benefit from their largesse. Lucy K. Smith accepted the check on behalf of the Healthy Kids Organization.
Bristol Consolidated, South Bristol, Great Salt Bay and Lincoln Academy are also recipients of the organization’s charitable gifts this year, which are principally raised from the donations of seasonal visitors to the gallery.
The Pemaquid Group of Artist Gallery is located at Lighthouse Park, Pemaquid Point and is open seasonally from June through mid-October. The regional and nationally-known artists are all area residents, juried into gallery membership.
