‘Peter and the Starcatcher’ opening Feb. 1
The Theater Project presents “Peter and the Starcatcher,” the Tony Award winning play by Rick Elice, based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, beginning Friday, Feb. 1.
“Peter and the Starcatcher” is a show for all ages, a whimsical re-telling of Peter Pan, The Boy of Who Would Not Grow Up. This production is a creative imagining of the backstory of J.M. Barrie’s Peter and Wendy where the audience meets Peter when he was just a nameless orphan boy, Captain Hook when he still had two hands, and Wendy Darling’s mother, Molly, a curious, clever 13-year-old.
Directed by Theater Project Artistic Director Al Miller, the play will be onstage at through the 17. Everyone is welcome to attend the opening night reception on Friday, Feb. 1: stay after the show to enjoy refreshments and to meet the director, cast and crew.
Other performance times are Thursdays (pay-what-you-want nights), Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Regular tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and students, $10 for children (12 and under); kids under 2 are free as long as they sit on a patron’s lap. The top level seating in the theater is always Pay-What-You-Want. Tickets are available anytime at theaterproject.com or by calling the box office at 207-729-8584.
The Theater Project is located at 14 School Street in downtown Brunswick.
