PIE hosts superintendent’s talk on energy project
Partners in Education (PIE) will hold its regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, in the Wiscasset Elementary School library. Featured speaker at this month's meeting is Dr. Heather Wilmot, Wiscasset superintendent of schools. Wilmot will give a talk and conduct a question-and-answer session on the upcoming energy conservation project.
The project will upgrade heating units in Wiscasset school buildings, replace banned lighting fixtures, replace wood framed windows in some areas, replace the front facade of Wiscasset Elementary School, and do other maintenance items that have been deferred for decades. Supported by the school department and the Wiscasset Budget Committee, this investment in our town's facilities will improve the learning and working environment for both students and staff, increase the value of town facilities, and is intended to save money for Wiscasset taxpayers. PIE welcomes the public to this meeting and encourages all to attend and bring their questions and concerns about the project.
PIE is a nonprofit educational foundation. Its mission is to provide a forum for open communication among Wiscasset Elementary School parents, teachers, staff and administrators, Wiscasset Middle High School, the School Committee, the superintendent, the Board of Selectmen and the community at large; and to provide appropriate fundraising support to WES. For more information about PIE or to make a contribution, please contact Kim at wiscassetpiechair@gmail.com.
