Planning board OK’s Shore Road home
The Edgecomb Planning Board on June 20 approved plans to build a home at 107 Shore Road.
Reverends Roger and Sandy Daly of Vermont have attended several board meetings since March to ensure their plans for the former Sullivan property would conform to town code. In March, board members advised the Dalys to return with a site plan for the non-conforming lot in a shoreland zone.
Mike White of Island Carpentry attended Thursday’s meeting with the Dalys. He told the Boothbay Register his company specializes in energy efficient and zero energy homes. He said the Dalys’ home would be a modular zero energy home.
The property has a pre-existing foundation, permitted in 2017. Barry Hathorne told the Dalys, “As long as everything is within the lines of the previously approved design, you are good to go.”
“It’s a nice lot and challenging with a long, skinny envelope in which to build,” Sandy Daly told the board. The septic system is in and was previously approved.
The board then took two, unanimous votes: The first established that the application was complete; the second one approved the building plans.
