The deadline for artist applications for the 2013 Castine Plein Air Festival has been extended to April 30. The one-day art festival will take place on Saturday, July 27 and will feature 35 juried artists who will spend the day capturing the scenic beauty of Castine in magnificent plein air (art painted in open air) paintings.

The event will culminate that evening in a public exhibition and sale of all artwork created during the day. Participating artists will have the opportunity to display and sell their art to a wide audience comprised of art collectors, art enthusiasts and summertime tourists.
