The Cathance River Gallery at 18 Main St., Bowdoinham is hosting a gathering of artists who have been creating impressions of local scenery for several years. They have one thing in common beside their talent, they love to paint on location outdoors from May through October. The sites range from the historic homes in Wiscasset to the farms in the river valleys to the coves and harbors along our coastal regions. 

The participants in this show are at varying stages in their artistic journey and all benefit from the shared experience and inspiration these plein air gatherings offer.  Artists include: Diane Dubreuil  (Monmouth), Jim Farnan (East Boothbay), Celia Ludwig (Wiscasset), Penny Markley (Winthrop), Dennis Pollock (Manchester), Cassie Sano (Augusta), and Fran Scannell (Southport). 

The public is invited to the opening reception Saturday, Oct. 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. Please join the artists who are happy to share their art experiences and learn the next best place to paint you might suggest! 

The Cathance River Gallery is open Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through early December.
