Ports of Italy restaurant was featured as a top 50 places to eat in Maine by Maine Magazine in its March 2013 issue.

The restaurants were rated by Joe Ricchio, Maine food scene icon and the magazine's former food editor; Anestes Fotiades, creator of Portland Food Map and Maine’s favorite covert diner; and Amy K. Anderson, Maine magazine food editor and longtime server at Hugo’s.

The review of Ports of Italy was: “Eating at Ports of Italy in downtown Boothbay Harbor is like going to a friend's house for dinner. Owner Sante Calandri is charming, and his enthusiasm and passion for food is contagious.

“He makes the pastas and desserts himself, and the porchetta is not to be missed. This is food truly made from the heart. They are open seasonally from May through October.”
