Join your Westport Island neighbors to hear the results of the recent survey of Westport Islanders’ views of how they would like the town evolve over the next 10-20 years. The survey response was outstanding, with 295 responses submitted by the Aug. 31 deadline. Thank you for your great ideas!

The survey results were the basis for drafting a Vision Statement that will be reviewed at a public hearing Sept. 25, at 7 p.m. in the Westport Island Town Hall. This Vision Statement will go to the town voters in November for approval. That draft Vision Statement can be found by clicking the Upcoming Events public hearing post on the home page of the Westport Island town website (www.westportisland.us).

The Vision Statement is an important step in drafting a revised Comprehensive Plan for the town. The Comprehensive Planning Committee will use the Vision to guide the drafting of specific recommendations for the State-mandated topic areas.
