Public works, cemeteries on menu for tonight
The Newcastle Board of Selectmen will have a full agenda when it meets tonight, Monday, Aug. 25, for the final time in August.
The board will discuss, among other things, the newly-formed interlocal agreement subcommittee, oil bids for the coming winter and an agreement with the Lincoln Cemetery Association.
The board will meet at 7 p.m. at the Newcastle town office on Pump Street. All meetings are open to public and available on LCTV.
The interlocal subcommittee was formed during a joint August meeting between the Damariscotta and Newcastle boards of selectmen to discuss the future of the agreement.
Interlocal dictates how the road crew is used between the two towns.
A subcommittee was formed to explore if the agreement was saving the towns money.
