Re: Davey Bridge
Dear Editor:
I enjoyed the article last week "Things to think about when crossing the Davey Bridge"
I have a strong memory of a crossing several years ago. As I started across the bridge I noticed the stone marker at the end of the bridge was draped with a white ribbon. I slowed to read the legend on the
ribbon and saw “Father of the Bride.” I was stunned to think that on that day a daughter who had lost her father years before still had the strong love to place those ribbons.
I still am often reminded of that ribbon as I cross the bridge, wondering how that years ago bride is doing. Are there now grandkids that never knew their grandfather? Think of all that Donald Davey missed because he chose to take a job to serve the rest of us.
