Dear Editor:

Holly Stover connects with the needs of real people. As a lifeguard/first responder I am so grateful that she recognized the need for much more availability of lifesaving medication for those suffering from substance abuse. Holly co-sponsored two bills that allow police, firefighters, corrections officers, and emergency medical personnel to stock and dispense the overdose drug, Naloxone. More lives have been saved as a result of this bill.

Addressing the actual substance abuse has also been on Holly’s radar for years. She sponsored a bill eliminating the MaineCare requirement for prior authorization for substance abuse treatment medication. She gets that we have to address the addiction, not just the symptoms. Many more first responders are now able to save more lives. That’s real change that affects all of us directly or indirectly.

I enthusiastically support Holly Stover for re-election as our state representative. Please remember to vote!
