Reflections
Reflections are fun, except, maybe, for the one that stares back at me from the mirror — that one is getting kind of old.
Photographing reflections is easy. Like photographing sunsets, you just have to be there when they happen.
Images reflected in water can be quite literal (as the photo above) or very abstract. Over the next weeks I’d like to share some reflection photographs (along with other images) that will demonstrate how varied and unique and maybe even interesting reflections can be. I have a lot of them!
Finding reflections is like a treasure hunt.
Varieties of sky and wind and sun combine with boats, piers, rocks, trees and all sorts of objects to create constantly moving still videos of change and realignment. Recording the unforeseen.
If you hit it right, mesmerizing image progressions provide endless displays that can be totally fascinating and beautiful. Or not — that’s the magic!
Early morning low tide with no wind is good for perfect replication; late day sunset with water movement yield wild abstracts.
Stay tuned for samples of both. It’s fun. Promise.
