Rep. Holly Stover appointed to Maine Recovery Council
Rep. Holly Stover, D-Boothbay, was sworn in as a member of the Maine Recovery Council on Thursday, Dec. 12.
The Maine Recovery Council is a 15-member panel that works to ensure that funding from legal settlements is used effectively to battle Maine’s opioid crisis. The council’s goals include preventing opioid addiction, reducing overdoses and supporting Mainers’ recovery from addiction.
Stover is the director of the Addiction Outreach Program at the Community Resource Council, where she works to provide support to individuals and families seeking treatment and recovery services.
“In my work, I’ve seen firsthand the need for support and resources as our community confronts the opioid crisis,” said Stover. “I am grateful for this opportunity to advocate as a member of the Maine Recovery Council for treatment and services that will save lives.”
Stover is serving her fourth term in the Maine House and represents Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Edgecomb, South Bristol, Southport and Westport Island. She is a member of the Legislature’s budget-writing Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee.
