For individuals interested in learning more about restorative justice within Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Knox, Waldo, and Hancock counties, all RJP Maine trainees come out of the three-day sessions with knowledge and skills for increasing community safety and belonging within our rural communities. 

Each training is “pay what you can” to make these opportunities as accessible as possible. We hope that those who train commit to a year of volunteering with our organization in support of ongoing community justice work in Maine.  The volunteer hours are flexible and responsive to your schedule.

This volunteer training series begins with a three-day Foundations training in restorative practices  after which individuals are able to volunteer in restorative justice processes as a mentor or in other community-building capacities. After the Foundations training, there are additional skill-building opportunities available to those interested in community building, healing, or responding to conflict and harm. Those interested in facilitating harm repair processes must attend all training sessions: Foundational, Skill-Building, and Harm Repair Practice. 

Two Foundations training sequences available:  on Sept. 25 and 26 and Oct. 15, 23 and 30.
