Richard K. "Rex/Doc" Walsh of Belmont, Massachusetts and Boothbay Harbor, Maine died peacefully of natural causes on Aug. 31, 2017 at the Massachusetts General Hospital.

Born in 1946 in Chelsea, Massachusetts, Richard was 71 years old. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret F. "Peggy" (Stack) Walsh, and devoted father of Ryan Walsh and his wife Renee Walsh of Belmont, Massachusetts; brother of Kenneth Walsh and the late Jack and Edward Walsh; loving partner of Kathy Geier of Salem, Massachusetts; and many nieces, nephews and Kathy's family.

Richard graduated Boston College and Babson, and served as sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war. He was laid to rest on Friday, Sept. 8 in Belmont.
