Richelle G. “Shelly” McLellan left us suddenly on July 2, 2023.

She was born Oct. 9, 1957 at St. Andrews Hospital to Richard and Gail (Reed) McLellan. Her father was in the Air Force and during her childhood she traveled a lot. She learned to drive in Alaska and eat baguettes in France. But Boothbay was always her home.

Throughout her life she was many things, an excellent baker, friend, mom and grandmother. Shelly showed what it really meant to put family first. She was never far behind her daughter taking her and her friends to basketball practices and on numerous adventures. Once her granddaughter Quinn came along, they were inseparable.

Shelly was independent, fearless, gracious, kind, loving, funny, and set in her ways. She shared all of these wonderful qualities with the two she loved the most.

Shelly leaves behind her daughter Katie, granddaughter Quinn, sister Melanie McLellan, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and her beloved pups.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
