River Arts presents ‘Much Ado About Nothing’
River Company Community Theater, the theater in residence at Skidompha Library, is presenting “Much Ado About Nothing” at the Library, July 26-27 and August 2-3 at 7 pm. Sunday Matinees will be July 28 and Aug. 4 at 3 pm.
This is one of Shakespeare’s most loved comedies. The efforts of the friends of Benedick (Ben Meader) and Beatrice (Jessica DeLisle) to get the two to fall in love is set against the foil of pure love between Count Claudio (Amy Holt) and Hero (Rachel Kaplan). The show is set in 1945 England, when men are returning from the war, and women have taken positions of power at home. Donna Leonora (Christine Andersen) is hosting the Princess Donna Pedra (Andrea Handel), along with the princesses bastard daughter, the villain Donna Julia (Thalia Eddyblouin). Misunderstandings, vile plots, and oaths of love ensue.
Come join the fun in the atrium of the library, staged on and in front of the great stairs. Wine and light refreshments served at intermission. Beat the heat and laugh with your friends.Tickets are $15 for members and $17 for non-members. Seniors are $10 and student $5. Tickets may be purchased though www.rivercompanytheater.org, and at the Library, or reserved at 207-522-2797. At the door River Company accepts cash, check, and credit cards.
