Robert E. Hussey
Robert Earl Hussey of Wiscasset passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 15, 2022. He was only 58. His family is both shocked and devastated by his death.
Robert was born Jan. 24, 1964 in Liberty, Maine to James F. Hussey and Roberta A. (Hatch) Hussey.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kasha Williams Hussey of Wiscasset; his children, Kayla (Hussey) Bedsaul of Liberty, Connor Williams Noel of Liberty, Jaime Hussey of Boothbay Harbor, and Benjamin Hussey of Raytown, Missouri; his six grandchildren, Kyle Bedsaul, Johnathan Hussey, Evelyn Hussey, Althea Hussey, Xavier Hussey, and Raina Maguire; along with his sisters, brother, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Robert faithfully followed Christ from the age of 12, attending church at Liberty Baptist, Palermo Christian Church, and Woolwich-Wiscasset Baptist Church. He was diligent in reading the Bible and reflecting in private prayer.
He loved poetry, learning, working with his hands, and music. He was kind, intelligent, strong, thoughtful, happy and humorous. Over the course of his life, Robert learned many trade skills that he implemented in his generous services to others, and in building of his beautiful home alongside his wife, Kasha.
He served as the assistant fire chief for Liberty for 13 years, and worked at Bath Iron Works for 32 years, retiring in 2020.
Robert is remembered by his children as a hero, and epic father. They fondly recall the thrilling moments of wild gymnastics and horseplay, his gentle way of teaching skills, the enthralling stories of semi-dangerous escapades, being guided in faith with words of wisdom, and having deep conversations just as often as exchanging puns.
Celebration of Life is Saturday, Oct. 1, 4 p.m., at Woolwich-Wiscasset Baptist Church.
