Ronald J. Riml
Ronald J. Riml, 78, passed away peacefully on Dec. 7, 2024 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease at the Togus VA Hospital.
Ron retired from the Navy Reserves after 23 years and 20 years as a policeman in Kankakee, Illinois. He was an avid reader who also ran a rare bookstore out of his home in East Boothbay. His passion was model ship building and Ron spent many countless hours creating beautiful model ships. He loved music, art, the sea and Maine.
He is survived by his wife Pamela; two daughters, Julie and Sarah and Pam’s son Kier, 7; grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents Itha and Joseph Riml, his sister Joel, his grandson Anthony and stepson Aaron.
Ron was a wonderful man, loving husband, amazing father and a dear friend to many. He will be missed by all who knew him.
There will be a graveside service to celebrate Ron’s life at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta Maine, to be announced.
The family of Ronald would like to express their gratitude and love for the exceptional care received at the Togus Springs Hospice Unit at Togus VA Medical Center.
