RSU 12 budget meeting June 8

The Sheepscot Valley Regional School Unit 12 regional budget meeting starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 8 at the Whitefield Elementary School.
The proposed budget for fiscal year 2014 ($26,511,003) is $745,358 more than the current year’s budget. The proposed budget reflects cuts in some staffing and programs due to decreases in state subsidy and increased costs.
Residents will vote to increase or decrease amounts in the 11 cost centers in this budget during the meeting. A Budget Validation Referendum will follow on Friday, June 28, where residents in RSU member towns will cast “yes” or “no” votes on the budget.
