Russian specialist to speak on invasion of Ukraine March 27
A retired U.S. Foreign Service Officer with many years experience in the Soviet Union and its successor states will analyze the Russian invasion of Ukraine in a presentation at St. Giles church in Jefferson Sunday, March 27 at 11 a.m.
Louis Sell, now a resident of Whitefield, will speak on the background of the current crisis in Ukraine, and the likely prospects for its resolution.
Sell held numerous high-level positions at the embassies in Moscow and other capitals in the region, and at State Department offices in Washington. He also has published widely on developments in Russia and the Balkan countries. In 2016 Duke University Press published Sell’s book “From Washington to Moscow: US-Soviet Relations and the Collapse of the USSR.”
St. Giles church is located at 72 Gardiner Road (Route 126), a quarter mile west of the intersection of 126 and Bunker Hill Road.
