The Wiscasset Budget Committee will put on a candidates' night for would-be members of the town's new school committee, the budget panel's chairman Bob Blagden announced.

Residents can come hear and ask questions of the candidates at Wiscasset Middle School on December 19. The event starts at 7 p.m.

At the December 3 Wiscasset selectmen's meeting, Blagden invited selectmen to provide some questions for the candidates.

The election is January 7.
