Sheriff's report
Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On April 10, Deputy Chad Gilbert responded to a report of the theft of a logging tool in the Dresden area. The complainant stated that sometime between April 7 and April 10, someone(s) stole a hand tool used to roll logs on and off the log saw (value: $200). Further investigation if leads develop.
On April 10, Deputy Chad Gilbert responded to a theft in the Boothbay area. The complainant stated that sometime between noon, April 9, and 9 p.m., April 10, someone(s) took 50 feet of power cord (value: $300). The power cord brings power from shore to the boats as they are tied up to the docks. Further investigation if leads develop.
Arrests
On April 9, Lee A. Maheu, 50, of Benton was arrested on two warrants and for failure to provide correct name, address, dob, on Hooper Street, Wiscasset, by Det. Terry Michaud who was assisted by Wiscasset Chief Troy Cline.
On April 11, Tanya L. Landry, 40, of Boothbay was arrested for domestic violence assault, on West Side Road, Boothbay by Deputy Kevin Dennison.
Accidents
On April 11, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Dresden involving Heather M. Manson, 29, of Boothbay Harbor. Manson was operating her 2010 Kia Optima when she lost control of her vehicle, crossed the center line and drifted into the guard rail. Her vehicle struck the guard rail and continued traveling down the guard rail. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
On April 15, an accident occurred on Eddy Road in Edgecomb involving Brandon T. Cookson, 23, of Boothbay. Cookson was operating his 2008 Ford Taurus northbound when a vehicle traveling south entered his lane. Cookson was forced to leave the roadway and struck a ledge, causing significant damage to the passenger side. The other vehicle slowed almost to a stop before leaving the scene. Deputy Justin Drake was the investigating officer.
