Reminder to all residents: All studded snow tires must be removed from vehicles by May 1, 2013.

Summonses

On April 18, Ben D. Dickinson, 18, of Boothbay was issued a summons for Possession of Marijuana, on Barters Island Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Kenneth Hatch.

Arrests

On April 16, Brandy B. Sargent, 26, of Dresden was arrested for Domestic Violence Assault and Violating Condition of Release, on Cedar Grove Road, Dresden, by Deputy Kevin Dennison, who was assisted at the scene by Major Ken Mason and Lt. Rand Maker.

On April 20, Ronald E. Williams, 41, of Wiscasset was arrested on two warrants, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Reserve Deputy Neil Genthner.

On April 21, Joseph A. Greenleaf, 22, of Wiscasset was arrested for Operating under the Influence – 1 prior, on Ridge Road, Newcastle, by Deputy Kenneth Hatch.

Traffic Citations

April 5: Janyce Beck, 65, of Peaks Island – Improper passing – Route 1, Edgecomb – Lt. Rand Maker.

April 10: Heidi Bailey, 41, of Litchfield – Speeding 55 mph in a posted 35 mph speed zone – Route 27, Dresden – Maj. Ken Mason.

April 11: Devon Jones, 22, of Newcastle – Failure to show proof of insurance; operating after suspension – Bayview Road, Nobleboro – Dep. Aaron Beck.

Recent Accidents

On April 18, an accident occurred on Alna Road in Alna involving Abdulkadir Y. Hassan, 21, of Portland. Hassan was operating his 2005 Nissan Altima east on Rabbit Path when he failed to notice the stop sign. Hassan drove through the stop sign and across the Alna Road, then left the roadway and struck a tree, with his vehicle finally coming to rest on its side. Deputy Aaron Beck was the investigating officer.

On April 19, an accident occurred on Townsend Avenue in Boothbay Harbor involving Patrick T. Higgins, 42, of Boothbay. Higgins was operating his 2004 GMC 1500 into the YMCA parking lot when his attention was drawn away from his path by another vehicle. As a result, his vehicle traveled into a culvert. Sgt. Brendan Kane was the investigating officer.

On April 21, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Heidi L. Ley, 38, of Boothbay Harbor. Ley was operating her 1998 Subaru Legacy southbound when a deer entered the roadway. Ley swerved to avoid striking the deer and as a result, her vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Deputy Justin Drake was the investigating officer.

On April 21, an accident occurred on Ridge Road in Newcastle involving Joseph A. Greenleaf, 22, of Wiscasset. Greenleaf was operating his 1996 Dodge Ram van southbound when he lost control of his vehicle and failed to stop at the intersection of Route 194, traveled across the intersection and struck a large rock. Deputy Kenneth Hatch was the investigating officer.
