Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

On July 9, Joshua H. Oliver, 33, of Newcastle was issued a summons for harvesting clams without a License, on Waldoboro Road, Bremen, by Deputy Kenneth Hatch.

Arrests

On July 10, Lori Batchelder, 48, of Whitefield was arrested for domestic violence assault, on Doyle Road, Whitefield, by Deputy Kenneth Hatch.

On July 15, Kraig A. McKenney, 44, of Boothbay Harbor was arrested for domestic violence assault and burglary, on Park Street, Boothbay Harbor, by Sgt. Jason Nein, who was assisted by Boothbay Harbor Officer Jared Mitkus.

Accidents

On July 9, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Suzanne Aronowitz, 75, of New York, N.Y.; Timothy A. Merrill, 47, of Edgecomb and Andrew J. Morley, 40, Boothbay. Aronowitz was operating her 2011 Lincoln southbound. Merrill was operating his 1990 Chevrolet Kodiak northbound on Route 27, followed by Andrew J. Morley in his 2003 Chevrolet Malibu. Aronowitz crossed the center line and entered the northbound travel lane in Merrill’s path. Merrill attempted to avoid Aronowitz’s vehicle by braking and steering right, however, Aronowitz’s vehicle struck Merrill’s vehicle on the driver’s side rear wheel area. Merrill’s vehicle entered the northbound shoulder and embankment where it came to rest. Aronowitz’s vehicle skidded forward before coming to rest facing south in the northbound travel lane. Morley attempted to avoid Aronowitz’s vehicle by braking and steering right and as a result, his vehicle left the roadway and entered the northbound shoulder and embankment before coming to rest. Morley’s vehicle had no contact with either vehicle. Sgt. Jason Nein was the investigating officer.

On July 10, an accident occurred on East Pond Road in Nobleboro involving Phoebe G. Arnold, 20, of Newcastle. Arnold was operating her 2004 Kia Sedona northbound when she stated she swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway and lost control of her vehicle. As a result, her vehicle left the roadway and rolled onto its roof. Deputy Kenneth Hatch was the investigating officer.

On July 13, an accident occurred on Knickerbocker Road in Boothbay involving Tyler S. Campbell, 18, of Danville, Vt. Campbell was operating his 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound when he observed a deer in the roadway. Campbell attempted to avoid the deer and lost control of his motorcycle. As a result, the motorcycle went down on the right side, skidded across the center line and into the southbound ditch. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.

On July 14, an accident occurred on Cape Newagen Road on Southport Island involving Justin T. Pfiefer, 25, of Southport. Pfiefer was operating his 2005 Honda Civic southbound and as he was proceeding forward, a deer entered the travel lane from a wooded area. As a result, Pfiefer swerved and proceeded off the roadway, striking an embankment before coming to rest. Sgt. Daniel Sceviour was the investigating officer.
