Sheriff’s report
Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On August 21, Michael S. Hawkins, 30, of Boothbay Harbor was arrested for operating after license suspension on Beach Road, Southport Island, by Deputy Kenneth Hatch.
On August 22, Deputy Todd Chilton received a report of theft of medication from a residence on Carriage Court in Dresden. The complainant stated that he had several pills missing from his latest prescription. It is believed the theft was between August 17, 2013 and August 22, 2013.
Accidents
On August 21, an accident occurred on Main Street in Newcastle involving Nancy Davidson, 20, of Byfield, Mass. and Marilee Harris, 52, of Edgecomb. Davidson was operating a 2009 Ford Explorer and was stopped, waiting to make a left turn into bank parking lot when Harris, who was operating a 2000 Honda Odyessey, failed to stop and rear-ended the Davidson vehicle. Deputy Richard Woodward was the investigating officer.
On August 22, an accident occurred at Cameron's Point Road on Southport Island involving Gage Sherman, 22, of Boothbay, and Jessica Helmbold, 28, of Baltimore, Md. Sherman was operating a 2004 Chevrolet, which was hauling a 2012 Haul Mark Trailer. Helmbold was operating 2009 Toyota. Sherman was traveling south on Route 27. Helmbold entered Route 27 from Cameron's Point Road, turning left and struck Sherman’s trailer. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On August 23, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road, Boothbay involving Christian Hoskeer, 51, of Boothbay Harbor. Hoskeer was operating a 2004 Ford Explorer when a deer ran into the front driver’s side. Deputy Aaron Beck was the investigating officer.
On August 24, an accident occurred on Jones Woods Road in Newcastle involving Ryan Herrick, 25, of Bowdoin. Herrick was operating a 2012 Fiat 500 and was traveling east on Jones Woods Road. He hit a soft shoulder and over corrected, crossing the center line and leaving the roadway, striking a tree. Deputy Justin Drake was the investigating officer.
