Sheriff’s report
Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On September 14, a 14-year-old female from Boothbay was issued a summons for Minor Possessing Liquor on Wiscasset Road, Boothbay by Det. Scott Hayden.
Recent arrests
On September 11, Nichole L. Brackett, 28, of Newcastle was arrested for violating condition of release, on East Old County Road, Newcastle, by Det. Sgt. Ronald Rollins.
On September 13, Garry L. Davies, 40, of Bristol was arrested for operating under the influence, on Bristol Road, Bristol, by Deputy Kevin Dennison.
On September 15, Mark A. Dunn, 29, of Lewiston turned himself in at the Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, on an outstanding Bath Superior Court warrant for violation of probation. Reserve Deputy Mark Walsh arrested Dunn without incident.
Recent accidents
On September 10, an accident occurred on Main Street in Newcastle involving Daniel F. Trask, 34, of Chelsea and Trina M. Rocha, 46, of Edgecomb. Trask was stopped at a stop sign in his 2013 Isuzu and began moving forward, then stopped for traffic. Rocha was behind Trask’s vehicle in her 2000 Audi and struck the back of it. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
On September 12, an accident occurred on Sheepscot Road in Newcastle involving Daniel A. Swan, 39, of Richmond and Nicholas J. Latella, 21, of Wiscasset. Swan was operating his 2005 Ford F-150 eastbound when he missed the road he wanted to turn down. Swan then backed up in the westbound lane, as he was currently on an incline, to avoid getting rear ended. He then began to turn from the westbound lane across the eastbound lane and when he did, he traveled in front of Latella’s 2006 Kia, which was traveling in the eastbound lane. Both vehicles made contact as Latella’s vehicle scraped the front of Swan’s vehicle. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On September 13, an accident occurred on Middle Road in Dresden involving Nathan T. Cowing, 40, of Dresden. Cowing was operating his 1998 Toyota Sienna northbound when his vehicle left the roadway on the left side and struck a utility pole, then overturned. Deputy Aaron Beck was the investigating officer.
